ICT (Information Communications Technology)

The ICT award category highlights the crucial importance which Information Communications Technology, the Internet and local websites play in the promotion and support of sustainable and thriving communities. The competing villages show resourcefulness, creativity and strategic vision in the way they research and implement some truly wonderful websites. This award demonstrates inclusivity in that ICT isn't just the privelege of the few but is made available to the masses and the winning entries reflect all aspects of community life. Far from supporting social isolation, ICT really has brought communities closer together and encouraged new economic growth - and also offers a chance for individuality and humour as part of a whole.
