How to Enter

The Calor Village of the Year® Northern Ireland competition assesses communities on FIVE aspects of rural village life - namely Building Community Life, Young People, Older People, Business and Environment.. More information can be found in the categories section.

Villages can enter as many or as few of the categories as they wish. Although there will be five individual category winners, only those villages who enter all five categories can be considered as an overall winner.

Entries are made by completing Calor Village of the Year entry form, which will soon be available to download, plus a written page of less than 500 words, telling us: ‘What makes your village a specialplace?' Both items must be returned for the entry to be considered.
