> Is your community rural, vibrant, enterprising and caring?
> Does it make the most of local opportunities?
> Is it a community the local population can be proud of?

If the answer is yes to any of these, then your community should enter the new Scottish Calor Village of the Year® competition, which has been launched by Calor to provide Scottish rural communities with the opportunity to gain recognition and reward for their achievements.

The Scottish Calor Village of the Year® competition is open to all villages and small towns in Scotland with a population of 5,000 or under. The awards are supported by the ASCC (Association of Scottish Community Councils) and Rural Gateway.

There are four regional competitions, North Scotland, Central Scotland, Southern Scotland and the Scottish Islands – please click here to find out how these are defined. Each regional winner will receive a cash prize of £2,000 and the overall winner of Scottish Calor Village of the Year® 2009 will receive an additional £7,000.
