Entry Assessment
To enter the competition, you'll need to complete an entry form, plus a written page of less than 500 words, telling us about any problems your village has experienced and what steps you have taken to solve or limit them? Entries that contain over 500 words on the written page, or that have failed to attach the entry card, will not be considered. For more information about how your entry will be assessed, to read the category guidelines, please click the appropriate link below.
Completed entry forms are to be signed by a recognised official of the community body and returned to the organisers by Friday 29th May 2009. Any entries received after this date will be considered for acceptance at the discretion of the organisers.
After assessment and short listing of the entries, a panel of judges will arrange to visit the communities which reach the final stage of each category to decide the prizewinners. The judges' decision will be final. The winning communities will be presented with their awards before the end of 2009 and a list of winners will be available by writing to the organisers after the presentation event.
By entering this competition Community Councils agree to allow the organisers the rights to full publicity. Prizes should be used to fund community projects and these can be outlined in your entry, although this will not be taken into account during the judging process.
