The 2008 Calor Village of the Year® for Wales was announced as the village of Froncysyllte in Wrexham.

A special awards ceremony in London was held to discover which village would become the holder of the national title.

Royal visit gallery

The Calor Village of the Year® competition was launched by Calor to provide Welsh villages with the opportunity to gain recognition and reward for their achievements and by doing so go forward as healthy, vibrant, sustainable communities into the future.

The Calor Village of the Year® for Wales competition is open to all villages in the Principality with a population of 5,000 or under.

Froncysyllte enjoys royal visit

On the 2nd of March 2009, HRH The Prince of Wales paid a visit to the Welsh village of Froncysyllte - winner of the Calor Village of the Year for Wales competition in 2008.

The Royal visit took place to celebrate all that the competition stands for and the positive impact it has on communities that take part.
