St Dogmaels Wins Welsh Competition

A photo of St Dogmaels, PembrokeshireSt Dogmaels has been announced the winner of the Calor Village of the Year® for Wales competition.

The Pembrokeshire village beat off strong competition from 15 other finalists to take the title, with victory confirmed at a special awards lunch on 31st October in Cardiff.

Judges describe the village as a "dynamic community machine" - with notable mentions for the activities in and around the village hall, the comprehensive support programme for young and old, the women's refuge, annual arts festival, environmental projects, village web site, IT suite and superb £600,000 coach house project.

Yet even with all this going on, the village still manages to appear relaxed and serene upon first impressions.

All in all St Dogmaels is a community which is not only a model for every other village in the UK - but most likely the envy of all as well.
